How Great You Are

How Great You Are

Have you ever found yourself looking at someone and thinking “Wow, they are amazing!” eg. A singer, a sportsman, a mentor, someone that you wish you could be. You follow what they do, you attend their concerts, events etc. Everything about them is just awesome! You can’t help but think “I would love to be like that!”
I am here to tell you that you can and already are.

That which you see in others you have in yourself. You could not see it if it was not part of your awareness. Think of that person that you admire. The gifts that you are seeing in them are also in you. They may be more developed at this stage but just the fact that you recognise those qualities, means that you also possess them.

A Course In Miracles reminds us that “You are a perfect creation, and should experience awe only in the Presence of the Creator of perfection.” It goes on to say, “Equals should not be in awe of one another because awe implies inequality.” Your belief that they have something that you do not, puts you in a position of lack. What you must realise is that you already have that which you admire.

This is not to say that this person does not deserve your respect. Ofcourse they do, they have taken those abilities, those gifts and developed them to be a magnificent expression of who they are. This person is also entitled to our love, as they are our brother in Creation.

Awe creates a sense of inequality. That somehow you are missing something. And there is nothing missing in you. You have everything you need right now. You possess those gifts right now. You are just as magnificent as what you are seeing. You just need to believe it ….know it ….develop it ….and thank God for it.

You are blessed.

3 Tips You Can Do Now To Improve Your Life!

1. Smile!
It instantly changes the way you feel, and has the power to positively affect people around you.

2. Be Present.
Live in the moment. The past no longer exists and the future has not yet come. All we have is now. The way you live right now, at this very moment will have an immense effect on your future. So make it great!

3. Filter Your Thoughts.
What are you thinking about? "Every thought you have makes up some segment of the world you see" ACIM. You have the power to create the life you want. It all starts with your thoughts. So ask yourself, "What am I thinking about? Is this what I want?" If the answer is "no", then change that thought to something you do want. Practice this over and over until it becomes natural to think positive thoughts that you can then see manifest in your life.

You Ready To Shine?

You Ready To Shine?
What is a sunbeam without the sun? A sunbeam would be non-existent without the sun. The power, light, warmth and energy it radiates is from the sun. Alone the sunbeam would be nothing.

Imagine the sunbeam turning into itself, withdrawing from the sun and seeing itself apart from all the other rays. What an absurd thought! That it could actually function or exist without its whole, without its greater part.

How could a sunbeam see itself seperate from the sun? Seperate from the whole? Seperate from the other sunbeams? And somehow believe that its magnificent power comes from itself?

And yet that is what we believe of ourselves. We live our life as though we are seperate to each other. That somehow our bodies keep us apart from God, the universe, and our brothers. The Course In Miracles states that "The body is a tiny fence around a little part of a glorious and complete idea. It draws a circle, infinitely small, around a very little segment of Heaven."

We believe our mind and thoughts have no effect on others. Without our whole we are non-existent. What we must realise is that we are powerful beyond measure! We are like that sunbeam, and we are here to shine, to love. Without God and our brothers, we are nothing. Together, is when we shine.

When we realise that we, like the sunbeam, are actually a slice of something so magnificent, we can then begin to tap into our greatness. Being a smaller part of the whole does not diminish us in any way. We possess the same qualities and gifts of the bigger part.

God created us like Himself. God is love, so we are love. We are His sunbeams. He shares his love through us. We are just as perfect as when He first created us. Nothing has changed. No matter what has happened in your life. You are perfect.

The Course reminds us of our immense power: "The sunbeam sparkles only in the sunlight". We have the power to shine always, now and forever. It goes on to say "yet in neither sun or ocean is the power that rests in you". Imagine that!

So today, see yourself as the extraordinary being you are. Feel your light, your love, God's love shining through you to all around you.

You are extraordinary!
Let it Shine.
